Phillies Father

No doubt this is swarming around the internet, but I thought this fellow's reaction was touching -- excitement to give his daughter something precious, which she ignorantly threw away, and his reaction was to calm and reassure her. No dad is perfect but here is a guy who at this moment was a good reflection of the Father's love.

Take a look at the video link here (originally from local Philly news (thanks, Ran!), but now on Fox via youtube when that link expiried (thanks, Justin!)).

And, of course, it was a Phillies' dad...

I was at this game, and we were too far to far away to see the girl, so we attributed the loss of the ball to idiocy. Turns out she's a ball player, so she threw it reflexively. Nice WPVI story here.

I've edited the post to include the Philly local news, as Mike O'Brien brings back good childhood associations!
thanks again Ran.

Sorry, that's Jim Gardner. I think O'Brien was the newscaster who died when his parachute didn't open.

Jim O'Brien, died 9/25/83. I vividly remember that day.
